I got my gingerbread cookie cutters on eBay from R&M International. The cutters also come with gingerbread cookie dough. I didn't like this recipe at all. I used the recipe found on a href="http://sweetopia.net/2010/11/gingerbread-cookie-recipe" rel="nofollow" target="blank"sweetoppia.net/a.br /div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"/divdiv class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-Kj6jrMV3lu8/U3rsAlyLSuI/AAAAAAAAB3A/BUGxZDO4Jmk/s1600/gingerbreadhousepic2zps027befb4.jpg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"img border="0" height="320" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-Kj6jrMV3lu8/U3rsAlyLSuI/AAAAAAAAB3A/BUGxZDO4Jmk/s1600/gingerbreadhousepic2zps027befb4.jpg" width="213" //a/divbr /div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"/divdiv class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"/divbr /I bought a few bags of candy to build my “house,” nothing fancy since I didn't want to spend too much money on decorations plus, like always, I was running out of time. I will probably do a tutorial step by step for the next one.br /div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"/divdiv class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-GAQRTqL66Y/U3rsAsBjQ1I/AAAAAAAAB3E/stQMcx2SQgQ/s1600/gingerbreadhousepic3zpsfd504d5f.jpg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"img border="0" height="211" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-GAQRTqL66Y/U3rsAsBjQ1I/AAAAAAAAB3E/stQMcx2SQgQ/s1600/gingerbreadhousepic3zpsfd504d5f.jpg" width="320" //a/divbr /div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"/divbr /div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"/divbr /Also, for the “glue” or royal icing I used a href="http://yolandascakesenglish.blogspot.com/2012/08/royal-icing-for-cookies.html" target="blank"this recipe/a.  After I was done, I decided to make a display right over my dining table with the houses and some candy and ornaments—take a look.br /div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"/divdiv class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"/divdiv class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-GaHoGdmFAjM/U3rsBBRCnII/AAAAAAAAB3Y/w8oht2FLZvo/s1600/gingerbreadhousepic4zps926470b8.jpg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"img border="0" height="225" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-GaHoGdmFAjM/U3rsBBRCnII/AAAAAAAAB3Y/w8oht2FLZvo/s1600/gingerbreadhousepic4zps926470b8.jpg" width="320" //a/divubIngredients/b/ubr /6 cups all-purpose flourbr /1 1/2 cups butterbr /1 cup packed dark-brown sugarbr /3 teaspoons ground cinnamonbr /3 teaspoons ground gingerbr /1 teaspoons ground clovesbr /1 teaspoon saltbr /2 large eggsbr /1 cup molasses (I like to use Grandma's unsulphured)br /br /div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"/divbr /ubInstructions/b/ubr /1. Combine cinnamon, ginger, cloves and salt.  Set aside.br /2. Beat on medium speed butter and brown sugar until creamy.br /3. Add eggs one by one.br /4. Add molassesbr /5. Reduce speed to medium and add the flour mixture until all combined.br /6. Divide into two round discs and wrap in plastic wrap. Let it rest for 1 hour.br /7. Roll out dough between two pieces of parchment paper and using cookie cutters cut shapes to 1/4" thick and FREEZE for about 1 hour.br /8. Meanwhile preheat oven to 350 degrees and bake cookies 12-14 minutes.  Cool before decorating.br /br /Note:  I place the cookie cutouts right on the baking sheet and freeze for 1 hour.  After the hour I just transfer them to the oven, in this way the cookies will hold their shapes.br /br /Recipe adapted from a href="http://sweetopia.net/2010/11/gingerbread-cookie-recipe" rel="nofollow" target="_blank"sweetoppia.net/a.
