February favourites and a smoothie recipe

February favourites and a smoothie recipe

Another month has literally flown by! Can you believe we are already in March? It feels like yesterday when I was sharing my Christmas recipe specials like After Eight bites and Gingerbread cake. Oh well, at least we have the spring to look forward to! If you have missed my January favourites you can find the post here.

February has been a good month when it comes to new clean products, so let’s take a look at some of them.

My biggest and most favourite discovery are these Butternut squaffles available from Sainsbury’s. There is literally nothing added and they are the perfect low carb alternative to the traditional waffles. I had them for breakfast one day, and as a side dish and with a bit of spice and garlic as a small dinner. Verdict: mega nice!

Ingredients

  • ⅓ can tinned coconut milk (make sure no nasties added)
  • 100ml coconut water or plain water
  • 1 banana
  • 1 scoop protein powder
  • ½ cup frozen berries
  • 1 handful cos or romaine lettuce leaves (not iceberg as this is the lowest in nutritional value)
  • 1-2 tsp Manuka honey
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 1 tsp turmeric
