A healthy after school snack that tastes like cookie dough on apple slices, but is actually good for you!
You guys, I totally feel like I am being sneaky here, but I promise I am not. I was making this recipe, and my son came in and was like, “Woah is that cookie dough on apples?” And since he is totally the pickiest child, and I have a real struggle getting healthy and wholesome foods into the kid, I said, “Sure!”
But really it is homemade Honey Cashew Nut Butter on apple slices with a few chocolate chips sprinkled on top! But he was right, it totally tastes like cookie dough. Which means I get to do my happy dance. Why? Because I found something I feel great about feeding my kids that is good for them and tastes awesome. Feel free to omit the chocolate chips if you are adverse to the sugar, or use a dark chocolate. For me it was worth the minute amounts.
- 1 Fugi Apple, washed and sliced
- 10-20 chocolate chips
- 3 Tbs Honey Cashew Nut Butter (or nut butter of choice)
