5 Instagram color trends that’ll make your photos pop

Instagram is a place to express yourself. It is the runway of the online world. Style, color, design and content are yours to create.

But, just like in the fashion world, there are certain Instagram color trends to be on the lookout for. This doesn’t mean you should copy them exactly. The goal of Instagram is always to find your own voice through color. But being aware of trends can help you find inspiration when you might be stuck in a content rut.

Here are the biggest Instagram color trends we’re seeing in top food bloggers’ feeds.

Soft colors

Pastels, creams and muted colors are where it’s at right now for food photographers. Softer edges with less clarity are also popular, especially if you’re looking to capture that Sunday morning feel.

Muted greens

Going right along with the softer color tones, it’s popular right now for Instagram users to take the vibrancy out of greens and yellows. The result is a moodier green that is more on the gray side than the neon, rich color spectrum.

Moody colors

This trend brings richness and texture to images. It often incorporates jewel tones in photos and darker contrasts. If you want to achieve this color palette, try a deep wood backdrop or charcoal.

Impure reds

Instead of the traditional, true red colors, Instagrammers are trending more towards the orange, rustic end of the spectrum when it comes to reds right now.

Teal blue

It’s all about that teal. Instead of the rich, denim blues, vibrant teal is where it’s at. A lot of food isn’t naturally blue, so look for this pop of color in backdrops and props.
