Bacon Red Onion Marmalade, the perfect condiment for burgers to a yummy salad topper!
Who doesn’t love a good burger? Well, if you are reading this post I would assume you are a meat-eater, hence the bacon in this recipe/title!
Burgers during the summer months are just a staple. But, they can get a little boring sometimes. I really wanted to mix up dinner and I thought to myself that an epic burger was in order.
- 4 sliced thick cut bacon, ½ inch dice
- 2 tablespoons reserved bacon fat
- 1 tablespoon butter
- 2 medium red onions, thinly sliced
- ½ cup granulated sugar
- 1 cup red wine
- ¼ cup balsamic vinegar
- 1 teaspoon fresh thyme leaves
