Apart from being vital for accompanying your roast pork dinner or to top your hog roast bap, apple sauce is just not a big deal in the UK. And because there isn’t a huge demand for it, our local supermarkets don’t sell a huge variety of it.
If you have been into clean eating for a while, you may have noticed that a lot of American baking recipes call for apple sauce in their ingredients list. Apple sauce can replace some of the sugar and fat in baking, making it the perfect ingredient to use whilst you are eating clean. You can by sugar free apple sauce in America but here in the UK you wont find a jar of clean, sugar free apple sauce in any of our supermarkets. Im pretty certain about that!
