Green Smoothie Bowls Recipe

Here’s how I’m doing St. Patrick’s Day this year – with a healthy Green Smoothie Bowl for breakfast. No shamrock shakes, no chocolate stout cake and no corned beef and cabbage here. Just a green smoothie. In a bowl. With all my favorite toppings.

This pretty bowl was inspired by the acai bowls at my favorite local juice shop. Last fall I fell into the expensive and dangerous habit up picking up one of those bowls on my way home from my weekend spin class. I’m pretty sure I heard my wallet cry every time I walked out of the shop. I eventually took matters into my own hands.

Ingredients

  • 3/4 cup almond milk
  • 1 cup baby spinach
  • 2 frozen bananas
  • 1 date, pitted
  • toppings
  • chia seeds
  • unsweetened coconut flakes
  • toasted pumpkin seeds or your favorite nuts
  • fresh berries
  • sliced banana
