We’re entering midsummer, the season that delights the gardener’s heart and tries the soul of the cook. It may be a joy to harvest your garden bounty or load up at the farmers’ market, but what do you do once you’ve reached the kitchen? A summer vegetable glut does not always present itself into nicely planned dinner menus. This I discovered last week when I found myself with five heads of cauliflower from the garden—five heads!
Here, to the rescue, is the annual blogging event Summer Fest. Each week for the next month, an impressive list of bloggers will be posting their kitchen inspiration for the great produce we have busting out of gardens and at the farmers’ market right now. How to cook it, how to preserve it, how to take best advantage of this gorgeous, bountiful season we find ourselves in. You can even play along yourself, on your site or in the comments.
