Fresh Blueberry Crisp

Fresh Blueberry Crisp

Don’t pass up those fresh blueberries at the farmers market – this Fresh Blueberry Crisp Recipe is the perfect easy dessert!

Last week, we were on vacation, driving through the middle of California. We weren’t driving through the big cities, but instead, we went through miles and miles and miles of farm land. While the roads were mostly flat and straight and some people might have been bored by this, I actually really enjoyed seeing all of the produce. Living in Utah, I don’t get to see groves of oranges or rows and rows of grapes. It’s amazing how massive those farms are, and I love having a glimpse of where our food comes from.

Today’s cookbook review – Farm-to-Table Desserts by Lei Shishak is perfect for all of that fruit that was growing so beautifully in those California farms.

The growing season is much shorter here in Utah, but I love that the book is divided into seasons so I can watch for those local fruits that may pop up at the farmer’s market or grocery store. And this book makes me want to seek out each and every fruit for every season! At the beginning of each chapter, there is a guide to what is in season which makes it much easy to know what to look for as well.

Here are the details:

Number of Photos: lots There is a photo of each recipe.

I was looking for a super easy dessert recipe to add to my repertoire, and this Fresh Blueberry Crisp is just that. It only takes minutes to put it together, then you let it bake and get nice and bubbly in the oven. And that’s it!! You could definitely serve this with a scoop of ice cream or whipped cream, but I thought it was pretty perfect just as is. While the recipe only has a few ingredients, I loved that it still was full of flavor and not boring whatsoever.

This Fresh Blueberry Crisp is easy enough to whip up any day of the week, and I can’t wait to try it again and again!
