I’ve used a variety of food storage container brands in my kitchen appliances since becoming a homemaker nine years ago. Tupperware, Rubbermaid, Sterlite, Pyrex, and Glad have stored our leftovers for years. Now that I have an EcoFresh platinum set from Faberware, all I’ve thrown everything out but the glass Pyrex. EcoFresh by Farberware food storage containers are BPA-free, microwave safe, and made of recyclable plastic, but what I really love about them is simply their ease of use. Food storage containers can have bells and whistles, a famous brand name, or sell at bargain price, but when it comes down to it I want a system that is easy to use. I don’t want to wrestle lids on and off or have to ask Hubs for help opening or closing anything. On the opposite end of the spectrum I don’t want lids so flimsy I have to tape them to stay on (been there, done that!) or lids that no longer fit because the plastic shrunk after using in the microwave. I’ve encountered all of these problems with several different brands so I’m happy to have found a plastic food storage system that doesn’t make me want to throw my leftovers across the room rather than go through the trouble of storing them. The attractive design comes in several colors. I picked the fern green since it matches my kitchen.
