Nuts, seeds, and dried fruit are all you need for typical trail mix recipes. Trail mix is a super snack for kids! Nuts and seeds provide heart healthy fats, vitamin E, copper, manganese, and zinc. They are also rich with fiber and protein! The concentration of ALA (good fat) has been linked to reducing inflammation and heart health.
We love trail mix because:
It’s portable! We do a lot of hiking , and always have trail mix with us.
It’s clean! (or at least if your kids drop some it’s easy to clean up!)
