This comfort food of Slow Cooker Easy Chicken Noodle Soup is a family favorite recipe in my house! My whole family even the boys loves this delicious, tasty soup. I love that I can throw it in all together in the crockpot and let it slowly cook all day. It makes my kitchen smell so good while it’s cooking. I came up with this recipe last year when I was feeling not so great and just wanted a good bowl of Chicken Soup. That time I had no noodles in it, but I took the base recipe for Chicken Soup and I now will add cooked egg noodles right before serving. I went through my kitchen and grabbed some chicken breasts, carrots, celery, onion,salt, black pepper and chicken broth.
I chopped the veggies and put them in the slow cooker with everything else. I set the slow cooker to low and let it cook all day for over 8 hours. I gave everything a stir and the chicken shredded very easily. When I had gotten home from picking the kids up at school I made some egg noodles on the stove top. I rinsed them after cooking them and added into the slow cooker. Stirred everything and served in bowls. I like to cook my noodles separate so the soup doesn’t get creamy from the starch, but you can add the noodles in to the crockpot and let it cook for 30 minutes to save a mess with another pot. My family loves this Slow Cooker Easy Chicken Noodle Soup served with crackers.
You can easily freeze this recipe and prepare it as a freezer meal. Simply add all of the ingredients to a gallon size freezer bag and freeze. When you are ready to cook simply place in the refrigerator overnight to thaw. In the morning add all of the contents to the slow cooker and cover. Cook on how for 4-6 hours, then cook the noodles. - 1 1/2 to 2 lb boneless and skinless chicken (breasts or tenders)
- 7 cups of chicken broth (boxed or can is fine)
- 1 cup onions, diced
- 1 cup celery, chopped
- 1 cup carrots, chopped
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 pkg of egg noodles, prepared according to package for serving (or use your favorite noodles)
