Hot Chicken Jalfrezi Recipe – Delicious Spicy BIR Style Curry

Hot Chicken Jalfrezi Recipe – Delicious Spicy BIR Style Curry

The chicken jalfrezi recipe described here follows the BIR curry style that I offered up in a previous blog post on making a great chicken Madras. BIR stands for British Indian Restaurant, so the method is very different from traditional Indian cuisine, with no tempering of separate whole spices. This makes it convenient for busy people to cook.

What you will need though is some curry base gravy already prepared, and also your pre-prepared curry masala mix powder. I provided recipes for both of these in previous posts. Just follow the links and get those sorted out first.

  • 3 cloves of garlic, crushed
  • 1 inch cube of fresh ginger, finely chopped
