While many this method intimidating, it’s much easier than you may think. To poach an egg, simply break the egg into a saucepan of simmering water and cook for one minute. Use a spatula to loosen the egg from the bottom of the pan, turn off the heat, cover, and allow your egg to sit for about four minutes or until the egg whites are cooked. Use a slotted spoon to lift the egg out of the pan.
