Spiked Blueberry Lemonade

Spiked Blueberry Lemonade

Today is my birthday. August 18th!  AND IT’S MONDAY AND I HAVE TO WORK.

I think that give me a pass to not write a long winded post about this drink.

This is the last cocktail I had as a 34 year old.  It’s lemonade spiked with gin and finished with fizzy blueberry soda. It’s been one of my favorite drinks this summer. I’m gonna be craving this come winter. But that’s cool, I’m gonna step up my toddy game this year.

What will 35 year old Tracy enjoy? WHO KNOWS. I hope it involves bourbon because….

And we’re off!

Let’s start with the garnish first.  I’ve been wanting to use our new cocktail picks and I finally have an excuse!

Blueberry blueberry lemon wedge blueberry blueberry blueberry. Repeat 4 times.

(Trader Joe’s has sparkling blueberry juice)

(they also have lemonade too)

(my Trader Joe’s has Hendrick’s)

(does yours?)

(it seems so crazy that in some states you have to go to a liquor store at certain hours to get booze!)

Ice in all highball glasses. Gin goes in. About 1 1/2 shots. If you go 1 1/2, you might as well go 2.

I might go three…BIRTHDAY.

Top with lemonade.

Follow with blueberry soda.

But wait…

Let’s garnish!

Spiked Blueberry Lemonade

  • Spiked Blueberry Lemonade
  • 3 cups ice
  • 3/4 cup Hendrick’s gin
  • 2 cups lemonade
  • 2 1/2 cups blueberry soda
  • blueberries, for garnish
  • lemon wedges, for garnish
  • Divide ice between four highball glasses. Add 1  1/2  ounces gin to each glass, followed by 1/2 cup lemonade. Finish each cocktail with blueberry soda until glass is filled. Garnish each drink with a cocktail pick garnish of lemon and blueberries.
