Sometimes I saw her grab a box a biscuit and other times I saw her make them homemade with Crisco or butter. I think it just came down to what she had on hand. The Ballplayer loves biscuits and he doesn't have a favorite just as long as they are covered in butter. I made these quite some time ago./divbr /bspan style="font-size: x-large;"Homemade Biscuits/span/bbr /2 cups all purpose flour plus flour to dust the counterbr /4 teaspoons baking powderbr /1/2 teaspoon salt br /1/4 teaspoon baking sodabr / 1/2 cup butterbr /1 cup  buttermilk (you  can  u/umake buttermilk using whole milk  and a TB vinegar if you  are  missing this)br /br /br /div style="text-align: justify;"Take all dry ingredients and cut butter into them and then add enough buttermilk until it is shaggy. Turn out onto a floured surface and roll out to 1/2-1 inch thickness (I really dont measure) and cut out with biscuit cutters (I use a class) and place into a HOT BUTTERED cast iron pan and bake in a preheated 400 degree oven for 10-12 minutes (more like 15 for my oven) I always run a cube of butter over mine right after they come out of the oven. It is a trick my Gram did. /divdiv class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-GFraogEfHq8/URGQWBUaweI/AAAAAAAAMTw/JfvKbFhYdg/s1600/193.JPG" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"img border="0" height="240" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-GFraogEfHq8/URGQWBUaweI/AAAAAAAAMTw/JfvKbFhYdg/s320/193.JPG" width="320" //a/divdiv class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-7gYySWI2S7M/URGRCHQ_6rI/AAAAAAAAMT4/tQn6ZVkNxJ8/s1600/193.JPG" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"/a/divBREAKFAST!!!br /div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-QdNQtEnquV8/URGRFSofD2I/AAAAAAAAMUY/lW4CTvS9AIo/s1600/198.JPG" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"img border="0" height="240" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-QdNQtEnquV8/URGRFSofD2I/AAAAAAAAMUY/lW4CTvS9AIo/s320/198.JPG" width="320" //a/divbr /div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-6D7QQtpC7Q0/URGRH3e1eoI/AAAAAAAAMU0/o0g8EIVNntc/s1600/200.JPG" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"br //a/divbr /
