Ever since the Crock Pot Mississippi Beef Roast hit the scene, we have been “Mississippi” crazy around here. Now, truth be told, I don’t have the first clue why this flavor combo is dubbed Mississippi other than my guess is it originated from a home kitchen in Mississippi, but regardless, we just love the flavor. So much so we have a whole library of Mississippi- style recipes:

Can I add vegetables to a Mississippi Roast?
One of the most common question I get asked is how vegetables will do cooking along side a Mississippi Roast. So this weekend when I was making a Crock Pot Mississippi Pork Shoulder, I decided to add my favorite roast veggies to see how I liked the flavor combination. The results were fantastic… and will change how we make our Mississippi dishes from here on out. We loved the flavor and the convenience of having a one-pot meal.
