HEARTY VEGAN PORRIDGE
When I was a little girl my mom used to make me porridge in the morning. It was so special to me. My mom wasn’t really a cook. She grew up in a family of eight and her mom was a baker. The attention often went to the youngest child or to making food. I can understand now why she rejected cooking! But as a child, when she would cook, it was always a real treat for me. Recently I remembered one recipe that I lOVED. I talked to my mom today and got the recipe. It’s incredibly simple and actually filled with protein and calcium. It’s an incredible meal for pregnant ladies, vegan calcium from tahini is a great way to help build baby’s bones. I’m excited to share it with you! It’s a nice warm hearty breakfast that will warm you from the inside out.
- 1 cup cooked organic brown rice or millet
- 1/4 cup warmed almond milk
- 1 tablespoon raw tahini
- 1-2 tablespoons organic grade B maple syrup
- 1 tablespoon hemp seeds
- 1/4 pear sliced on a mandoline
