Let’s talk television today!

Tell me, what are your favorite TV shows? Are you addicted to Netflix? Watch Hulu? Or prefer On Demand?

I have to admit that while I do have Netflix, I go in spurts with it. Sad, right? Any shows that I need to be watching right now?

But, I do record shows on my DVR and watch On Demand when I need to. Every fall, I try to get into new series that are airing on TV that interest me.

I know most shows already aired their season finales, but lets talk about my favorites! My current new favorite is This is Us. Do you watch it? Soooo good! I won’t spoil it for those of you who haven’t (and please catch up this summer so you’re ready for season two!), but let’s just say that the entire cast is brilliant.

I also watch a bunch of other shows, including The Middle (I seriously love that show and will be so sad when it’s over with), American Housewife, Grey’s Anatomy (am I the only one who still watches this?), American Horror Story, and a smattering of others.

I also love the Food Network! I really only watch the actual, how-to-cook shows, not the challenges or competitions. My favorites are The Pioneer Woman, Trisha’s Southern Kitchen, and The Kitchen. On Saturday mornings, I try to enjoy my morning cup of coffee on the couch while watching these shows. It gets my weekend off to a great start!

And I’m always full of recipe ideas after watching a few episodes. In fact, I’ve shared a few of my favorites from these cooks before, and I’m sharing another one again today from Trisha Yearwood.

I’ve actually been wanting to make this Skillet Almond Shortbread for the past eight months or so, and I’m finally getting around to it! Since it turned out so good, I just had to share it with you. So, thank you, Trisha!

This Skillet Almond Shortbread is easy to make and pairs perfectly with a cup of coffee or tea. The buttery shortbread base is packed with hints of almond and bakes up thick, chewy, and full of flavor!

If you’re a fan of simple recipes like I am, then this Skillet Almond Shortbread was made for you. When I saw Trisha make it on her show, I just knew I had to try it. The thick shortbread, the flavor from the almond extract, and the buttery, delicious taste had me hooked.

And it’s just seven ingredients! Plus, it’s made in a skillet, which just seems to ensure that it’s going to be one deliciously sweet dessert. I mean, skillet treats always have me coming back for more, and this shortbread did not disappoint.

I used Trisha’s recipe almost exactly as written, except that I cut down on some of the sugar. If you’re not a fan of almond extract, you could easily replace it with vanilla extract, or even rum or raspberry extract. The possibilities are endless!

So if you’re looking for that easy, but decadent summer treat, you’ve got to try this Skillet Almond Shortbread. It’s full of simple ingredients, takes just minutes to whip up, and turns out delicious every time. It’s sure to be a crowd-pleaser for those hungry house guests!
