This recipe is a hearty real-food dinner, with minimal prep time. The potatoes are optional, you can skip them or swap them out for other root vegetables. Or simply add more sauerkraut.
This is not a true dump-and- go recipe, we will actually be using the Instant Pot’s saute mode to sweat the potatoes and onions before adding the remaining ingredients and cooking on Steam mode for 10 minutes. You’re gonna have to peel and dice up a few potatoes and a small onion though.
If you plan to have this recipe cook and then stay for a while in keep warm mode, make sure to add more water in the beginning to be safe.
Instant Pot Pressure Cooker

- 2 cups of water
- 1 pound of either chicken, turkey, or beef kielbasa, cut into 1″ slices
- 1 to 2 white potatoes, peeled and cut into a large dice. If you want firmer potatoes, cut them into larger pieces. (skip these if you wish). Around 2 to 4 cups.
- 1 small white onion, cut into a small dice. About 1 Cup.
- 1/2 tsp of sea salt
- 1/2 tsp of ground black pepper
- 3 tbsp of olive oil
