Craft Beer Cocktail: Weissen Sour

Whiskey Sour (with egg) is my favourite cocktail.  Well, it has been for about 2 years now.  So when I saw that this was actually a thing, I insisted we do it.  The original cocktail appeared in America around 1870 and can be constructed with and without the egg white.

To make this beer version we have used marmalade and Wheatbeer and to keep the classic, retro nature of the original, paired it with some orange and mint stuffed olives.

Weissen Sour

Makes 1 cocktail


  • 60 ml Whiskey
  • 25 ml fresh lemon juice
  • 10 ml white cane sugar syrup
  • 1/2 tsp bitter orange marmalade
  • 60 ml Berliner Weisse Berg
  • 1-2 large ice cubes
  • 60 ml Whiskey
  • 25 ml frisch gepresster Zitronensaft
  • 1/2 TL Bitter Orangenmarmelade
  • 60 ml Berliner Berg Weisse
