Ahhh! Is anyone else getting giddy for SPRING?! I know, I know…it’s only January, but we are COLD! Part of that might be because my husband insists we wear socks and sweaters around the house rather than turn up the thermostat (yes…he was the inspiration behind my post, “How to Save Money on Your Utility Bill“).
Anyway, since we aren’t about to brave the cold weather to go to the park…I asked my husband if he would use his handy man skills and put a swing down in our unfinished basement. My girls LOVE IT! I want it to stay a novelty until the weather gets warm, so right now I only let them swing when I’m doing laundry or right before bed. Take a look…
- Find an old frame, or even a door to a small cabinet
- Paint it your color of choice. Mine is blue to match the color scheme in our master bedroom
- Measure the inside of your frame or cabinet door and cut your chalkboard vinyl accordingly (I bought a large roll of it for $6-7 so that I can use it for multiple projects). Remove the paper backing and adhere to your frame. I started with one corner and slowly worked my way down so that I didn’t get any bubbles in the vinyl. It wasn’t as difficult as I thought it would be.
- Using scrapbook stickers or vinyl lettering, spell out what you want your frame to say (“I Love You Because..” “I’m grateful for…” etc.).
