Red Wine Burgers

pI love to pair red wine with a good juicy burger.  At the end of a long week, it’s nice to sit on the back patio grilling some burgers, chatting with friends and sipping a glass of wine as we watch the sunset.  It was one of those evenings that actually made me think of.../p

Ingredients

  • 1 cup pinot noir or good dark red wine
  • 2 tablespoons light brown sugar
  • 1 large sprig fresh rosemary
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • ¼ cup red onion, diced
  • ¼ cup crumbled gorgonzola cheese plus additional for serving
  • 2 tablespoons crumbled cooked bacon (about 2-3 strips)
  • 1 garlic clove, minced
  • 1 teaspoon worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • Few cracks of fresh black pepper
  • 4 ciabatta rolls
