Peach Milkshakes

Peach Milkshakes

There were lots of peach orchards where I grew up in Arkansas.  In fact, they still have a Peach Festival every summer to celebrate and I really miss those ripe, juicy peaches fresh off of the tree.

Last summer my Mom gave me a bunch of  peaches that she grew on her peach trees and we made a ton of peach smoothies and shakes.  My oldest son was in heaven, he loves peach everything.

Well it isn’t quite time for fresh peaches this year but I had a huge craving for one of those peach milkshakes.  I bought some canned peaches, drained them and froze them.  A peach milkshake is so good that I would put it in the comfort food category.   I spice up my peach milkshakes with a little cinnamon and a touch of nutmeg just like a good southern peach pie.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup vanilla ice cream
  • 1 cup milk
  • 2 peach halves, frozen (Use fresh or canned and freeze in a zip top freezer bag)
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon
  • pinch of nutmeg
