Sticky Chinese 5 Spice Wings

You can never have enough chicken wings recipes! That’s one of my favourite mottos.  They are great for entertaining and for footy night and I am yet to meet someone who doesn’t like them. Today’s recipe is delicious: sticky, sweet, spicy, tangy and hearty thanks to the Chinese 5 Spice Mix. These wings are baked – I never fry my chicken wings – yet, they are crispy and succulent. The secret in this case is in the rub made with just… baking powder! Baking powder makes the wings extra crispy, but you will not taste it when eating them. Give it a go and let me know!

Ingredients

  • ¼ cup brown sugar
  • ¼ cup soy sauce
  • 2 tbsp lime juice (about 1 lime)
  • 1 tsp garlic granules
  • 1 tsp ginger powder
  • ½ tsp salt
  • 1 tbsp honey
  • 2 tbsp baking powder
  • 1 cup water
  • ½ cup balsamic vinegar
  • ¼ cup soy sauce
  • ¼ cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tbsp honey
