Recipe & Food Styling | Instant Vegetable Idlis - And story on a plate..

When you believe in someone you profoundly increase their ability to have faith in themselves and achieve. ~ Jason Versey

“Sanjeeta, are you free today..we want to discuss with you about an innovative product launching video. More later, when we meet in person, bye” said Arabbhi and disconnected the phone.

I have been very fortunate to have worked with some of the very talented and creative persons in the industry and Avinash Hariharan  &  Arabbhi of Happy Unicorn production house is one such couple.

We reached the office at the same time and met Anantha, who was waiting for us.

“Here you go”.  said Anantha, who opened a large box and unveiled a stunning black beauty from inside. It was a prototype of the product, a beautiful pearl black non-stick shell shaped mould.

The new venture is designed and already patented by Anantha Narayan, co-founder of  Wannawill Inventorium. We discussed the various possibilities to make the end product look exotic.

“This is going to be a product launch video, please try your best to make sure that the Idlis look real exotic and appealing to the viewers. And I know you can do it, Sanjeeta” Arabbhi concluded the meet maintaining a tone of  confidence.

I was excited and a little anxious at the same time, ’cause when someone believes in you, it gives you a sense of accountability to prove them right.

“Why don’t you take a single plate home and try out different possibilities with Idly batter.” suggested Anantha.

I wrapped the mould in a paper, put it in my bag and started off to home thinking about various options to try out.

“It’s a prototype of the product, the very first preliminary version of a device. This single plate might be more than 2 lakh bucks, how did they share this with very careful with it” hubby glanced back at the black beauty and instructed the children not to touch it.

That precious prototype of the children were warned not to touch or lift that piece in my absence 🙂 I tried out a few vegetable Idlis at home and shared pictures the pictures with them.

I shared the above picture with Arabbhi and received an instant reply..

“Wowwe..Anantha will be delighted. And you are blessed” read her reply. She immediately forwarded another message from Anantha “Super, she is doing a terrific job”.

A successful beginning…half the battle won 🙂

The shoot was finalized and we decided to shoot at the spacious and vibrant office of Happy Unicorn. Reached the venue and arranged my props before the shoot.

Trying out different combinations for the Idli at the set..

Few samples I tried out with fresh coriander, roasted semolina, strawberry preserve, carrot and tutti fruity for the shoot..

Edible seashore created for the final shot..

Thank you Avinash, Arabbhi and Anantha for believing in me before I believed in myself! I thoroughly enjoyed working for this wonderful product.

And here is the beautiful video in case you would like to see…

Back home, I served the sample Idlis (steamed rice cakes) I tried with the mould with coconut chutney, to my family. My children were amazed by Idli transformation and finished the Idis before I could even explain how I made them 🙂
