Since it is mango season here in Hawaii and I can always get local bananas (span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-style: italic;"usually small, sweet/span span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-style: italic;"a href="http://www.specialtyproduce.com/index.php?item=2050"apple bananas/a/span), and limes, this is a easy recipe for me to make. Plus if you think about it, Ina's daiquiris are really like fresh fruit smoothies, (span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-style: italic;"except for all that alcohol!/span), so they are a good way to get a few servings of fruit into your day. :-)/span/divdivspan class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: 'trebuchet ms';"br //span/divdivspan class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: 'trebuchet ms';"You can find the recipe in span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-style: italic;"a href="http://www.amazon.com/Barefoot-Contessa-Back-Basics-Ingredients/dp/1400054354/ref=sr11?ie=UTF8&s=electronics&qid=1250142927&sr=8-1"Barefoot span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLINGERROR1"Contessa/span Back to Basics/a/span (Page 47)/span/divdivbr /br /a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/sLRBvr6RQPU/SoOxRVWcCRI/AAAAAAAAGLY/vTKwjPJO8AM/s1600-h/CIMG0576.JPG"img alt="" border="0" id="BLOGGERPHOTOID5369330092102912274" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/sLRBvr6RQPU/SoOxRVWcCRI/AAAAAAAAGLY/vTKwjPJO8AM/s400/CIMG0576.JPG" style="display: block; margin: 0px auto 10px; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; cursor: hand; width: 400px; height: 311px;" //abr //divdivspan class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: 'trebuchet ms';"span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-weight: bold;"span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-style: italic;"Mango-Banana Daiquiris/span/spanbr /span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-style: italic;"B/spanspan class="Apple-style-span" style="font-weight: bold;"span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-style: italic;"span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLINGERROR2"arefoot/span/spanspan class="Apple-style-span" style="font-style: italic;" /spanspan class="Apple-style-span" style="font-style: italic;"span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLINGERROR3"Contessa/span/spanspan class="Apple-style-span" style="font-style: italic;" Back to Basics/span, Ina span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLINGERROR4"Garten/span/spanbr /(span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-style: italic;"Serves 4/span)br /br /2 cups chopped ripe mango (span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-style: italic;"1 to 2 mangoes, peeled and seeded/span)br /1 ripe banana, choppedbr /1/2 cup fresh squeezed lime juice (span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-style: italic;"4 limes/span)br /1/4 cup sugar syrupbr /1 1/4 cups dark rum, such as Mount Gaybr /Mango slices, for servingbr /br /Place the mango, banana, lime juice, sugar syrup, and rum in a blender and process until smooth. Two parts sweet to one part tangy in flavor, it's a refreshing drink and not too heavy. I made two changes, the first being using the remains of a bottle of coconut rum I needed to use up instead of the dark rum Ina called for. The second change was to not add the simple syrup, as my mangoes and bananas were both really ripe and sweet, as was the rum. I felt it needed just a little something though, so I added about 1/2 tablespoon of agave nectar, which made it perfect for my tastes. /span/divdivspan class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: 'trebuchet ms';"br //span/divdiva href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/sLRBvr6RQPU/SoOxSLfQ6FI/AAAAAAAAGLo/BQlBpTQjytk/s1600-h/CIMG0546.JPG"img alt="" border="0" id="BLOGGERPHOTOID5369330106635446354" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/sLRBvr6RQPU/SoOxSLfQ6FI/AAAAAAAAGLo/BQlBpTQjytk/s400/CIMG0546.JPG" style="display: block; margin: 0px auto 10px; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; cursor: hand; width: 300px; height: 400px;" //abr //divdivspan class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: 'trebuchet ms';"Thanks Veronica for picking a fun and easy summer cocktail!
