Chocolate Stout Cupcakes with Stout Fudge Frosting

Ingredients

  • 2 cups sugar
  • 1¾ cups flour
  • ¾ cup cocoa powder
  • 1½ tsp baking powder
  • 1½ tsp baking soda
  • ½ tsp salt
  • 2 eggs
  • ½ cup buttermilk
  • ½ cup vegetable oil
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1½ cups (1 12-ounce bottle) Obsidian Stout beer
  • 6 ounces unsweetened chocolate, melted and cooled
  • 4-1/2 cups (563 g) powdered sugar (no need to sift)
  • 1-1/2 cups (3 sticks) unsalted butter, at room temperature
  • 6 Tbsp Obsidian Stout beer
  • 1 Tbsp vanilla extract
