Vegan Walnut & Raisin Protein Scones

I have to admit that I do not eat a whole lot of protein powder, but when I do it is usually when I make these scones. Personally I think protein powder is a bit too processed to quality as a “health food”. I would much rather eat wholesome unrefined vegan protein sources, along with all the other fiber, vitamin and minerals they might contain, instead of eating the refined powder filled only with the extracted protein. Now do not get me wrong here, I am not saying that protein powders are in any way damaging to your health, I just believe there are better options out there.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups unsweetened plant-based milk
  • 2 cups certified gluten-free oats
  • 1 cup raisins
  • 3/4 cup roughly chopped walnuts
  • 3 scoops unflavoured vegan protein powder (or vanilla flavoured)
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla essence (skip if vanilla flavoured protein powder)
