I love this image because it feels like a “bug’s eye” view of the fruit bowl. And that’s a great reminder of who our opponent is in the race to enjoy our ripe summer fruit!
I don’t know about you, but right around peach season (mid July) the fruit flies get a little crazy at our house. I made a strawberry rhubarb shortcake a week or so ago and I felt like we were competing with the flies to eat it! They were swarming horribly.
I complained about the situation to a fellow mom and another mom overheard and told me she had the easiest solution. She said to go home and put apple cider vinegar and a drop of dish detergent in a small bowl. She said the apple cider vinegar would attract the fruit flies and then the dish detergent would break the surface tension so they would drown.
