Savory Basil Pesto Hummus Donut

A savory fried basil pesto hummus donut lightly dusted with dry aged Parmesan cheese.

Ingredients

  • 1 quart of canola oil
  • 1 envelope (2¼ teaspoons) of quick rising dry yeast
  • 2 tablespoons warm water
  • 3¼ cups plus 1 tablespoon of all purpose flour
  • ¾ cup Sabra Basil Pesto Hummus
  • 1 cup whole milk
  • 1 cup grated mozzarella cheese
  • ½ stick (2 oz) Soft butter
  • 1 cup dry Parmesan Cheese *see notes
  • 2 slices ripe tomato
  • 2 thick slices mozzarella cheese
  • Balsamic vinegar
  • Fresh basil leaves
