It's Chocolate Cherry Heaven

I know Valentine's Day was yesterday, but because we have a working household, we decided to delay "V" Day until we are both off. We will be celebrating tomorrow! So I had extra time to put together a most decadent little treat.br /divOne of my favorite parts of a Box of Chocolates is the Chocolate Covered Cherry. I love when I bite into the hard candy shell and get all that cherry goodness leaking out. Then the fruity goodness of the cherry combined with the chocolate WOW!! It's absolutely Heaven. I wanted to get that sensation in a cookie and I think I have perfected it in this one. I give to you/divdivbr //divdiv style="text-align: center;"bspan style="font-size: x-large;"Chocolate Cherry Heaven/span/b/divdiv style="text-align: center;"bspan style="font-size: x-large;"br //span/b/divdiv class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-mPLSCEQcYA0/Tzv9OUG9BDI/AAAAAAAAAsE/wlOPCzs-yA/s1600/Valentine+Cookies.jpg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"img border="0" height="300" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-mPLSCEQcYA0/Tzv9OUG9BDI/AAAAAAAAAsE/wlOPCzs-yA/s400/Valentine+Cookies.jpg" width="400" //a/divdiv style="text-align: left;"bspan style="font-size: large;"Ingredients:/span/b/divdiv style="text-align: left;"br //divdiv style="text-align: left;"1 cup Butter (2 sticks, room temp)/divdiv style="text-align: left;"2/3 cup Brown Sugar/divdiv style="text-align: left;"3/4 cup White Sugar/divdiv style="text-align: left;"2 Large Eggs/divdiv style="text-align: left;"1 tsp Vanilla/divdiv style="text-align: left;"2/3 cup Cocoa Powder/divdiv style="text-align: left;"2 1/2 cups All Purpose Flour/divdiv style="text-align: left;"1 tsp Baking Soda/divdiv style="text-align: left;"1/2 tsp Baking Powder/divdiv style="text-align: left;"1/4 tsp Salt/divdiv style="text-align: left;"1 Cup White Chocolate Chips/divdiv style="text-align: left;"1 medium jar Maraschino Cherries (drained and kept whole)/divdiv style="text-align: left;"1 cup Chopped Walnuts *optional/divdiv style="text-align: left;"br //divdiv style="text-align: left;"bspan style="font-size: large;"Instructions:/span/b/divdiv style="text-align: left;"Preheat Oven to 350° f/divdiv style="text-align: left;"Line Cookie Sheet with Parchment Paper/divdiv style="text-align: left;"br //divdiv style="text-align: left;"Combine Sugars and Butter./divdiv style="text-align: left;"Beat until smooth/divdiv style="text-align: left;"Add Eggs, Beat until frothy./divdiv style="text-align: left;"Add Vanilla, Combine/divdiv style="text-align: left;"Add Dry ingredients and mix until well combined./divdiv style="text-align: left;"Fold in Cherries, Chips and Nuts./divdiv style="text-align: left;"br //divdiv style="text-align: left;"With a 2 oz Ice Cream Scoop, Scoop mounds of dough onto parchment./divdiv style="text-align: left;"May use tablespoon and form into balls./divdiv style="text-align: left;"br //divdiv style="text-align: left;"Bake at 350° for 9-11 minutes./divdiv style="text-align: left;"Cookies will be soft when removing from oven.
