My first recipe on Mussels that too Goan style courtesy My Mom. This recipe of Goan Mussels is easy and tasty. There are lot of ways you can make Mussels. Even in Goa there are a lot of variations to make mussels. I have eaten almost all styles of mussels. Some mussel dishes are dried mussels, mussels curry, mussels in vegetables, mussel pulao. I can vouch this Goan Mussels recipe tastes amazing with Bread and Steamed Rice.

Mussels are my favorite that too the ones made from mom. Along with my family even my pet loves it. I am sure you will love it too. This recipe is quite simple even bachelors can make them. The only critical part is to clean the mussels and dice them. You need to clean the mussels properly as it is consisting of muddy particles.

Ingredients

  • 2 tbsp oil
  • 750 gms of Mussels
  • 200 Gms Fresh Grated Coconut (1 half coconut)
  • 12 Garlic Cloves
  • 1 tbsp Cumin Seed
  • 1 tbsp Turmeric
  • 2 tbsp Coriander Seed
  • 5 Kashmiri Red Chilies
  • 2 inches of Cinnamon Stick
  • 2 tbsp Pepper Corn
  • 1 mace (Javitri)
  • 2 Onion Chopped(1 for paste other for tadka)
  • Salt as Per taste
  • 1 glass water or as consistency required
  • 5 to 6 Kokam
