Cordon Bleu Casserole

Cordon Bleu Casserole is loaded with chicken (or turkey) and ham in a creamy Swiss cheese sauce topped with a layer of toasty bread crumbs!

Ingredients

  • 4 cups cubed cooked chicken OR turkey
  • 2 cups cubed cooked ham
  • 4 tablespoons (1/4 cup) butter
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/3 cup flour
  • 2 1/4 cups very warm milk
  • 1/4 to 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/8 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/8 teaspoon ground mustard powder
  • 1/8 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • Freshly ground black pepper
  • 1 1/2 cups (6 ounces) grated Gruyere OR Swiss cheese
  • 1 1/2 cups breadcrumbs
  • 1/2 cup (2 ounces) grated Gruyere OR Swiss cheese
  • 4 tablespoons (1/4 cup) butter, melted
  • Fresh minced parsley, for garnish (optional)
