For those who don’t follow me on Twitter , you may not know it, but I’ve been in Hawaii for the past few weeks. Since my partner AJ happens to be a college professor and I’ve been freelancing ever since I quit my job, we have a flexible summer and we decided to rent a condo over in Maui for the month of July. This, of course, was made possible by my parents deciding they wanted to come out and visit San Francisco (as they are thinking of retiring there, they love it so much) and sublet our apartment for the duration of our trip away. I was a bit stressed out about getting our apartment in order for them, and also making sure they had everything they needed for their visit. But my mom and dad came out to our apartment and called me within the first week and told me they loved my place (exclaiming how surprised and impressed she was at my organization skills). Then my mom sheepishly told me that she had eaten a lot of the peanut butter I had in our fridge and she hoped that was okay. I laughed and told her of COURSE, but then she wanted to know all about the peanut butter that I had and why I had so many jars of it. I told her that I was chosen by the company Peanut Butter & Co. to develop recipes for their All Star Recipe Blog Series . She seemed less impressed by my developing recipes for them and more impressed by the peanut butter itself. It’s no wonder though, as the peanut butter is pretty awesome.
