The Petits Chefs worked with a new-to-many-of-them fruit this week – kumquats!
And decided they were “not bad”. Their appearance led many of the boys to believe they would be sour like lemons but they were pleasantly surprised. Plus, bonus “you eat the skin!”. We got to making “lucky” jam – they are thought to bring prosperity and good luck for Chinese New Year.
Now if you have jam, you need something to put it on, right? So we made bread. Brown soda bread, to be precise…
