It was my first Thanksgiving not spent at my parents which was a little weird for me, but it was still wonderful. I had a great time at my in-laws and got to contribute a few dishes of my own. All of the food was really really good. My in-laws even had home grown sweet potatoes

My husband made some awesome chicken chili last week and I made some cornbread to go along with it. Before I start posting some yummy fall foods, I wanted to share this lemon poppyseed muffin that I made a few weeks ago. Muffins from scratch are so much better than those from a box. You cut out all the uncessary chemicals and additives and get to really taste the flavors of whatever kind you are making. Plus, you can adapt to your own tastes and substitute different ingredients to make it health

With about a month to go until the official start of Fall (Sept, 22nd) and the nice weather we have been having, I am already craving all kinds of fall foods.... soups, pies, chili,casseroles, pumpkin spice lattes, just to name a few.
