Apricot Frangipane Mini Galette

I am obsessed with stone fruits these days. Nothing comes to my mind, except playing around with these cuties and churning out a good recipe. I want to make them all. The short time for which stone fruits are available makes me more tempted to try out recipes using them. I don't want to whine for the entire year for not milking the opportunity. And as I told you before, I was prepared this year. I

Blueberry Streusel Muffin

As promised here is yet another baked goodie from my oven. Blueberries have made a very short appearance in the shelves of my grocery store and the price is sky high. I somehow convinced myself to buy a pint and make these muffins. Soft and moist and blueberry in every bite, these muffins are pure bliss. If you don't have access to blueberries, just go ahead and make these without them or add any

Peaches and Cream Coffee Cake

My baking is on in a full swing, thanx to the stone fruits which have made a short appearance in the market. As soon as saw these on the shelf of my grocery store, I got greedy and  came back home with bags fulls of plums, peaches and cherries. Cherries are my kiddos favorite, so I have none left for my baking expeditions and with the plums, I made an upside down cake. I also managed to sneak

Upside Down Plum Cake

Plums and peaches and mangoes and cherries. That's the best part of summers. You wait for the entire year to bite into these juicy and flavorful fruits and within no time, the season is gone and you keep longing for more. Last year I planned to make a few cakes and cobblers with stone fruits and by the time I could decide and settle down with a recipe, it was almost time for the stone fruits to di

Mango Cream Gateau

By now, you all must be familiar with my mango love. I missed eating these beauties while in the US. So after coming back, I was eagerly waiting for the season of this saffron king of fruit and now make sure I compensate for all that I have missed in the last few years. One of my everyday meal is just slices of cut mangoes and breakfast has to have a glass full of mango shake. Apart from eating ma

Cookie Crumb Tart with Tangy lemon Curd Filling

I cleaned my kitchen cabinets yesterday and got a lot of stuff which needed to be used very soon. Apart from a lot of bottles of different kind of sauces and dips, which are reaching their expiry date, I also got a box full of assorted cookies. Whenever I have guests at home, I open a packet of some kind of cookies and the remaining goes into a box and then they are forgotten. Next time, I again o

Herb Grilled Chicken Pizza with Tomato Sauce and Alfredo Sauce

There was  time when eating pizza meant going to either pizza hut or some places like that. But I never relished the taste and ate as those were the only options. Then a few years back, we happened to go to Italy for a vacation and we ate pizzas at the local pizzerias and I just fell in love with the dish. The crunchy and flavorful crust and the various toppings that went with it, without the

Restaurant Review I The Great Mango festival at Grand Mercure, Bangalore

In my last post, I was telling you how much I love mangoes and how I love to incorporate them in my cooking and baking. Although I know quite a few dishes where mango is the star ingredient, the list is not all that long. So when I got an invite to try the fares at the " Great mango festival " at Grand Mercure, how could it be a no. It was raining cats and dogs in Bangalore that evening and it was

Mango Ice Cream

Mango is my favorite fruit and I wait for summers so that I can have my share of this king of all fruits. Apart from eating mangoes as such, I try to incorporate it in whatever I cook to make the most of the fruit. A few days back, I tried a Vanilla Bean Ice Cream and it turned out really delicious. So this time, I  kept the base same and added mango puree to it and the result was even more y

Vanilla White Cake with Ombre Swiss Meringue Buttercream

My cooking has been trapped in a vicious circle. I am not complaining guys. It's just that I make something and then to use the leftover from the recipe, I make something else. And then again to use the stuff left from the second recipe, I make the third one.I made this delicious vanilla bean ice cream some days back. I used the egg yolks and had egg whites sitting in my fridge. So thought to make

Chocolate Brownies with Cream Cheese Swirls

People who know me well, knows that I am not at all a fan of Chocolate. Infact I never eat Chocolate as such. Never ever. Everyone used to wonder when as a kid, I used to give away my share of Chocolates. But Chocolate desserts, they are my weakness. Isn't it too weird. I crave for chocolate cakes and  mousses and brownies and always make sure  there some kind of chocolaty goodness stock

Kalimirch Paneer\ Indian Cottage Cheese In Black Pepper gravy

This  is one of my favorite Paneer recipe.....I love Paneer in any form and so does my Kiddo and Mohit....When I am out of ideas for what to cook, Paneer comes as my resort....Although this recipe was a little too spicy for Bhavye, he managed to finish his share, sipping water after every bite....The heat from the black peppers gives it a nice kick.....If you are not a big fan of black pepper
