Musings and Butterfly Cupcakes

These little butterfly cupcakes were one of my favorites when I was little easy to make and they really do look like butterflies. I added a little tea to the butter icing and decorated with licorice. I also like them as years ago as a student one of my neighbors said I was like a butterfly. I have been battling with comparison recently, comparing myself to other bloggers, dietitians and so fo

Roasted Vegetable and Farro Salad

This is my new favorite thing to make, I have made it a few times recently, simple and full of flavor, what chow and chatter is all about. Farro is an ancient type of wheat high in protein, B vitamins, vitamin E, magnesium, selenium and, of course, fiber. Its easy to cook and has a nice nutty flavor, it can also be made into a risotto, I made one with pancetta and shitake recently. Any season

Washington DC: blossoms and global tastes

We have just spend a lovely weekend in Washington DC with our friends. It's not so far from us and its such a great city to visit. We were lucky enough to still see a few blossoms on the trees. The whole city has been seduced by these beautiful little flowers that change from white to pink almost in the blink of an eye. With carnivals, a Japanese street festival, blossom inspired cocktails and sto

Cinnamon Rolls with a Story
