Kumquats. Here's another way to incorporate these tangy gems into what would be just chocolate-chunk & walnut oatmeal cookies. These citrus treats dress up and are the star of an old-fashioned cookie favorite.
A rustic, subtle flavored dessert with a delicate crumb texture. This is not a sweet cake. It doesn't need sugary icings or any kind of silliness like that. A light sprinkle of powdered sugar is more for aesthetics than anything else.

These miniature pumpkins always make me smile, forget any woes and starts the season off for me when I find them in my grocery store in mid-late September. Jack-Be-Little (orange) and Baby Boo (white) pumpkins are smaller varieties that are used for both decoration and eating.

The cake part has a tender crumb about it and each cupcake is like a mini coffee cake. The smell of the amaretto is perfume with the streusel topping. The real surprise? Biting into the cake there are small chunks of apples throughout that are not instantly visible, but most certainly present and enjoyed.
The Bouchon French Toast.
A stacked bread pudding style that is almost too perfect and beautiful to eat. Custard and apples with warm layers of brioche, drizzled with maple syrup and ever-so-lightly dusted with powdered sugar.
What I liked about this recipe version of a tomato tart is how the texture and flavors hold up, whether it's served warm or at room temperature. It makes for a fantastic appetizer when entertaining or simply as a side dish.

A refreshing way to use those fresh summer berries and incorporating their sweetness into a salad dressing mixed with extra-virgin olive oil and balsamic vinegar.
This is a good recipe that makes a good textured baked good. Not a dry, crumbly scone. Substituting other berries in lieu of the strawberries would work well. Maybe even adding some blueberries with the strawberries would be both a tasty and visually appealing treat, as well.
What I really liked about the ingredients for this homemade strawberry ice cream was that there were no eggs. No eggs equated to not having to precook a custard.
Not a botanical berry, but an aggregate accessory fruit. One serving of strawberries (about 8 strawberries) is an excellent source of vitamin C, providing more than an orange. Other healthful benefits include fiber, potassium, and antioxidants.

This is a filling savory tart so I would recommend it as a side. It would be a nice serve with a crisp white wine as an appetizer too. The phyllo pastry surrounding the Gruyere-custard and asparagus lends both a complimentary crisp texture, as well as adding to its aesthetics.

To offset some of the sweetness and allow the chai to come through, I added a salty, flavorful element to it by rolling the completed marshmallow in pistachios.
The sweet, salty and spicy combinations made for an elegant, grown-up (if you will), type of flavor meld for this confection.
The rustic bread is moist, but has a fantastic textured exterior due to that butter and the evenness that the skillet promotes. The aroma and flavor of the butter on the top, bottom and sides of the bread is reminiscent of that nuttiness and richness of brown-butter. Last, but not least, the sweetness and texture of the corn you use in the bread and the cheesy surprise throughout the bread are th

Mmmm....white chocolate! The pecans add to the buttery-nutty flavor, while the old fashion oatmeal lends body and the half-and-half delivers a moist, flavorful muffin. Serve these with a tall glass of cold milk!
There's no substitute for the fantastic flavor that a ham hock adds to a soup. That said, if you're looking for a split-pea soup version with less sodium but with split-pea and veggie goodness - this is a good alternative that you can work with and further customize to your culinary and palate preferences.
