I remember many times spending the day with Oma making Apricot Jam from the abundance of fruit on her trees. A SWEET memory to go along with the jam!!! XXX

Congrats Sara! That is so awesome. I wanted to say that I am really enjoying the blog. Even though I've done almost zero baking from scratch, I was inspired to try to make this pie & the strawberry cake for Chuck's birthday, they both turned out great & everyone really liked them :) so thank you for the inspiration & great recipes.Karen Minear
Sara my love, you are a total credit to your family. How you were touched by the trip to Uganda and the poverty but generosity of one family. We are more than proud of you my dear. You are a blessing to all who know you and more than a blessing to me. God bless you my darling and may God continue to use your abilities and kind spirit. How special you are!!! love you...
Sara!!! I am SUPER impressed. Just reading this post and hearing your passion for pies makes me love you that much more. You are the real deal. What an exciting day for you. Love that Miles called you "pie" and am wishing we lived a whole lot closer so I could sample one of those yummy yummy treats!

Awww, I LOVE this post. And look at MIles! He is SO big and such a cutie. I seriously can not believe how fast time has flown by this year. All of those cakes are making my mouth water. I hope you had a wonderful time celebrating your sweet boy.
I LOVE horchata! I drank it all the time when I was pregnant and haven't shaken the taste for it since. I definitely plan to use your recipe this summer - hurray! :)From, Meg

Woo Hoo...sharing desserts is NOT a bad thing at all !!! I will continue to enjoy your blog, and hugs for your little Miles. XXXX
woh! i just made this same cake, or at least it was really similar. except in my barefoot contessa cookbook, it was called the lemon yogurt cake. http://www.foodnetwork.com/recipes/ina-garten/lemon-yogurt-cake-recipe/index.htmlit was super yummy. clearly we're on the same wavelength. and of course yours looks so much better than mine!
Giada's Lemon Spaghetti is my favorite and sooo easy! I am jealous of that tree! We have a tiny one but I have to wait patiently for months to get a good sized lemon. :)
Giada's Lemon Ricotta Cookies... yummy too!Also, I love it in making crab/shrimp ceviche/cocktail. =D
we made these tonight! YUMMY! there are so many delicious tastes all packed into one cookie! thanks for sharing!
Have to try this one! And all your others. Maybe I will start trying them all over my Christmas break. Wishing you and your adorable family a very memorable holiday season. Love you guys!
Yum. I hope you had an awesome Thanksgiving. Here's the new URL to my blog, faithful reader http://thingsontables.blogspot.com/
This looks and sounds soooo yummy. Something tells me that if I tried to make this, it wouldn't turn out nearly as nice as yours. I may just have to give it a shot though. MMM!
A fun tradition and SO yummy to take part in! =D
Oh, I love all these comments! Thanks for reading my blog and allowing me to share stories about your family!
this was really sweet! i am following you now...love the food ideas!
Oh my....tears run in the family. YOu have touched my heart deeply and I am in awe of your sweet post. I too have the dearest memories of driving you girls to school ( listening intently to all of your conversations). If I made you feel at home, then I am grateful, because I wanted all of the kids who came to our home to feel a part of our family. I know you will raise your family in the same w
Rock star... soooo true. Each one of these posts brings a huge smile to my face and you're making me crave way too many things. Yum!
Oh Sara!!!! This just made me cry. I can't wait for my Mom to get home from work so she can read it. Reading these words brought me right back to those times. Such sweet memories that I have from those days. Don't think the fun was ALL at my house though... hello barracks, silent wilderness, and your above ground pool. I can't wait to start keeping up with your blog. I never knew you w
This is SO GOOD. Thank you for sharing - I've never thought to put cocoa powder in a smoothie and the result is delightfully milkshake-y!
Awww, the eggplants are so cute.
Yum . . . I'm appreciating the last few days left of summer. Now onto fall foods :)
I still actually can't cook. I can boil some corn pasta like no one else but then I use store bought sauce so it kind of cancels the cooking part out. But I am going to cook these cookies. Thank you. I'm salivating just thinking about the goodness.
I was just thinking about this burger and how good it was! Wasn't there also a Giada turkey burger recipe you made once? Can you post that one? Can you have a burger week?
DEFINITELY making those zucchini pancakes and sauce very soon!!
