With professional football season beginning this weekend, and college football beginning last weekend, it’s time to step up your football food game. Spicy baked chicken cream cheese wontons are the perfect bite-sized treats to add to those game day menus. A simple spicy filling is made of chicken breast, cream cheese, some essential seasonings and spices and El Yucateco Red Habanero Hot Sauce. This addicting filling is then stuffed inside small wonton wrappers where they are sealed into cute little bundles. Baked (and not fried!) to perfection in a hot oven, and these chicken cream cheese wontons are ready in under 20 minutes, giving you more time to enjoy the big game!

Ingredients

  • 1/2-pound fully-cooked chicken breast, shredded or diced small
  • 6 ounces cream cheese, softened to room temperature
  • 2 tablespoons Red El Yucateco Hot Sauce
  • 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, finely chopped
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • salt and black pepper (to taste)
  • 12-18 wonton wrappers, 2x2inch (or similar)
  • 1 egg, beaten
