Not too sweet, but perfectly rich and creamy – this breakfast casserole is easy to throw together the night before, then cook morning of for a very special breakfast or brunch treat.  This is another of my mothers recipes and it is really delicious.

Ingredients

  • bread - 16 slices, dry, stale - crustless and cubed
  • cream cheese - 2 8 oz packages
  • blueberries - 1 cup
  • eggs - 12 large
  • milk - 2 cups
  • maple syrup - 1/3 cup
  • sugar - 1 cup
  • cornstarch - 2 tbsp
  • water - 2 cups, separated
  • blueberries - 1 cup
  • butter - 1 tbsp
