  • 2 toes minced garlic
  • 2 T olive oil (I used Olive Tap tuscan herb)
  • 1 T. basil paste (I used Gourmet Garden brand - You can sub 1T. dried or ¼ cup fresh chopped)
  • ½ c. red wine (I used Casillero Del Diablo Cabernet Sauvignon)
  • 2 c. penne pasta (I used Barilla Plus Multigrain)
  • pinch of salt
  • fresh ground black pepper, to taste
  • pinch of crushed red pepper flakes (optional - If you like it spicy)
  • ¼ c. grated parmesan cheese (for garnish)
