Chocolate covered cherries
The FIRST time I tried chocolate covered cherries was about 10 years ago.
My dad had gotten this FANCY gift box of GOURMET fruits from some of his co-workers.
He brought the box home for us to sample and when I opened the box, every fruit was pretty much COVERED in chocolate and nuts.
My FAVORITE fruit ended up being the chocolate covered cherries…they were sooooo good!
I also remember my LEAST favorite… dried cantaloupe slices covered in chocolate… Ewww!
Anyways, since it’s cherry season, I DECIDED to make those gourmet chocolate dipped cherries at home.
I mean…Why order them online when you can make them yourselves at a FRACTION of the cost?!
So, I DIPPED all the cherries in white chocolate since I believe that PAIRS the best with the tart cherry flavor.
But, you can dip them in milk chocolate or dark chocolate, if you like.
You can also COVER them in anything you like such as nuts, sesame seeds, coconut and even sprinkles.
The little one obviously LOVED the sprinkle cherries
But, I was in love with the coconut chocolate cherries.
Next time, I am going to TOAST the coconut… those would taste INCREDIBLE! Right?!
These cherries are GREAT for snacking, packing in school lunch boxes or even gifting.
If you PACKAGE them in a nice box, they would look just like those fancy boxes of gourmet cherries that you order online.
To make these chocolate covered cherries, you will need the following ingredients:
- 2 cups cherries (washed and patted dry)
- 1 cup melted white chocolate
- 2 cups coconut
- 2 cups rainbow sprinkles
