Whatever the reason, I make a lot of pies during November. It just puts me in the mood for all the deliciousness that comes with a Thanksgiving...

Ingredients

  • 2 cups flour
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 3/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 (1 stick) cup butter, chilled and cut into cubes
  • 1/4 cup shortening
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 2 tablespoons ice water
  • 3 apples, peeled, cored, and chopped
  • 6 ounces fresh or frozen cranberries
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 3 tablespoons flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 2-1/2 tablespoons lime juice
  • 1/4 cup (1/2 stick) butter, cut into pieces
  • 3/4 cup flour
