Cinnamon Bun Martini

Cinnamon Bun Martini

pI’m so excited to share that I’m participating in the 2014 Holiday Cocktail Party Blog Hop! Myself, along with several other bloggers were challenged to create a delicious holiday cocktail to share for the party. Challenge accepted!     When it comes to holiday flavors, you may think of candy canes, spiced ciders, or even eggnog. However, when Shaun (my hubby, aka resident mixologist) and I were chatting about the cocktail we wanted to create, we simultaneously said “cinnamon buns”! We both have fond memories of Christmas mornings as a kid, dressed in fuzzy pajamas and tearing through reindeer-covered wrapping paper. The only thing that could convince us to put down our new toys and step away from Santa’s loot was the sweet smell of cinnamon buns baking in the oven. Both of our moms are fantastically skilled in the kitchen, and they brought their A-game on Christmas mornings.     Warm, ooey-gooey, melt in your mouth cinnamon buns topped with homemade frosting were a real treat on Christmas morning. I don’t think my mom made them every Christmas, but the years that she did really made for a fond memory (who am I kidding… I’m a total sucker for frosting-covered-anything, so of course cinnamon buns were my fave!)     The Cinnamon Bun Martini is our adult version of the perfect Christmas confection. This drink perfectly embodies the spirit of Christmas morning memories, but with a healthy dose of vodka Every element was carefully selected to create a unique cocktail that truly tastes like an adult version of a cinnamon bun. Cinnabon Pinnacle Vodka, Caramel Bailey’s Irish Cream, and a cinnamon sugar rim are the perfect ingredients for a delicious holiday cocktail!     PrintCinnamon Bun Martini Ingredients4oz Caramel flavored Bailey's Irish Cream 3oz Cinnamon flavored vodka (we used Pinnacle Cinnabon) 2oz Vanilla flavored rum 1 TBS simple syrup Cinnamon & sugar, to rim the glassInstructionsIn a shaker filled with ice, combine the Bailey's, cinnamon vodka, vanilla rum, and simple syrup.
