Patriotic Pop

The 4th of July is coming up this weekend and if you still are still looking for a treat to enjoy while watching the fireworks I have one for you that your kids, and you, will enjoy…Patriotic Pops! Of course you really don’t need a reason to enjoy these popsicles and they are perfect all summer long as they are a delicious frozen treat when it is hot out. Creamy and delicious yogurt popsicles with marshmallows and sprinkles. For an extra special bang we added marshmallow fluff and more sprinkles! Standard popsicle molds work best for these popsicles as it gives the marshmallows time to soak up a little moisture and instead of being hard they are gooey like the marshmallows in Rocky Road Ice Cream or your other favorite marshmallows ice cream flavors. We picked marshmallows because they scream summer and they are white. Yogurt, also white, makes them creamy and is a healthy option. Making these for the girls I used one of the girls favorites, Stonyfield Organic Vanilla. It also works great with it’s thinner texture. For mine I like to use So Delicious coconut milk yogurt. If using a thicker greek yogurt you will want to thin it a little. Just use your favorite vanilla yogurt. Marshmallow Fluff is dairy free but does include egg white, for those with allergies. White chocolate is also an option if you want to add the extra embellishments. If you are looking for a patriotic pop without so much flare check out the Patrotic Pops we posted a couple  years ago.

Do you have any favorite eats for the 4th of July or food traditions?
