Puffins Cereal Pops (vegan version)

Mini Trix Cereal Pops

It’s summer and we like our popsicles, even for breakfast! We shared our Breakfast Pops almost 2 years ago that we make with yogurt, fruit, granola, whatever you want. It was basically a parfait that was one of our breakfast go tos (still is) in popsicle form. We decided to have a little fun and make them with cereal. While these can be made with milk and cereal, which works fine in the Zoku Quick Pop Maker, we make them with yogurt. Yogurt works better for our Zoku Standard Classic Mold as the cereal doesn’t get soggy either. Plus added nutrition and yogurt keeps you full! You can make them with your favorite cereal and yogurt. We made a batch using So Delicious dairy free Vanilla Greek Style Yogurt and Puffins, which is also good with banana slices added! A gobbled those up, even the second batch to photograph before I got them photographed and the one in action picture as she was eating it was blurry. I was able to get some without bananas photographed. The other ones we decided to make a little more fun and colorful. I went to the store and when I saw the Trix Minis, yes tiny little Trix balls, I knew I had to use them! We paired those with Stonyfield Organic Vanilla Yogurt as S isn’t a fan of thick yogurt lately and this is one of her favorites. Yes I used a sugary cereal with colors I am aware, you can use any cereal you want as well as any yogurt you want. That means you can make them healthy or for a treat and you can make them to fit your dietary and nutritional needs!

This post is more for inspiration and fun. The girls loved these popsicles and they made summer mornings fun. They also made breakfast on the run before gymnastics camp extremely easy as A could just grab one and go, yes there were mornings she enjoyed one in the car on the way. If you are like me and you get a craving for cereal at night these can also be dessert. Whoever made up rules saying foods were breakfast foods or dinner foods really wasn’t creative if you ask me and must have lead a very structured boring life.

So back to the popsicles, the measurements are very vague. As I said it is more for inspiration and it really depends on what cereal you use, the size of the cereal, and how much cereal you want in the popsicles. So get creative and make them how you want them! If you do make them I would like to know what you and or your family think and would love to see what you made so please share them with me on social media!
